The most widely attributed cause of hair loss in females is generally considered to be due to genetic reasons. People generally tend to inherit the trait to lose hair from their parents.

Other factors which contribute significantly to the loss of hair in women include stress, improper diet, hormonal imbalance, menopause etc.
There are several methods of treating hair loss in females. Cosmetic hair preparations like shampoos and tonics help to a large extent by promoting hair growth. One such product is ‘Rogaine’ .

Some females lose hair after child-birth and such cases are considered to be minor. This is because the loss of hair in such females is temporary and can be regained after a period.
