Vitamin A also known as retinol is anti xerophthalmic. It prevents the drying up of the eye ball and the lining of eyelids. It also plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy skin. Retinol helps in regeneration of rhodopsin pigment. This means that vitamin A can help in regeneration cells and this is how it can be used to get rid of stretch marks.

When there is sudden increase in weight, the skin expands in order to accommodate for the growing fat. Eventually, in the process, the skin is over stretched to an extent that it tears off. When this happens, the epidermis develops wounds which turn into scars when the skin heals. The stretch marks so developed can be removed by the regeneration of cells.

Vitamin A is basically an antioxidant and eliminates the free radicals from blood that contribute towards ageing of cells.

It also prevents the skin from absorbing UVA and UVB which reduce the skin’s ability to heal the wounds, thus preventing the skin from further damage.

Vitamin A also regulates the growth(Studies Prove Vitamin Works For Asthma) of cells. This helps in smoothening of epidermis. It also leads to enhanced regeneration of epidermal cells of the skin.
